Rooster Teeth Animation is looking for a skilled 3D animator with a strong knowledge of SideFX software to become a part of our ever-growing team. This position involves animating and simulating crowds for a variety of our made-for-web content, utilizing keyframe and motion capture techniques, as well as crowd simulation techniques in Houdini - all while integrating those assets into RoosterTeeth’s proprietary pipeline. This position is responsible for both the creative and technical aspects of this process. Candidates should be prepared to remotely demonstrate their knowledge of SideFX software.

Responsibilities:

• Utilizing Maya to produce animated content under direction.
• Creating scenes and populating them with crowds according to the needs of the show.
• Work with the Director, Layout Leads, and Animation Leads to achieve the right look and feel of our shows, responding to critiques and reviews effectively.
• Utilize SideFX software to create crowd simulations that fit aesthetically within our shows, and are compatible with our pipeline.
• Follow established protocols in file management structure, project organization, and version control.
• Self-assess progress and utilize time management techniques, as well as production tracking software, to meet deadlines and milestones.
• Communicate effectively and respectfully.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years working in a production environment.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• In-depth proficiency in Autodesk Maya and SideFX software (Houdini).
• Strong understanding of animation principles.
• Desire to further improve skills and techniques.
• Ability to adapt to new processes and workflows quickly and effectively.
• Strong will and self-motivation to complete tasks on time.
• Work well within a small team of specialists, as well as the animation department as a whole.
• Resume and Demo Reel.
• Past experience with SideFX software.
