Director of Design

Opcity built a nationwide real-time data and technology platform combining cutting edge deep learning, business analytics and human intuition with the latest web, mobile and digital telephony technologies to enable our team of professionals, and thousands of real estate agents and brokers, to make sure we connect every home buyer with the right agent at the right time so more time is spent finding a home and less time finding the perfect agent.
The Director of Design at Opcity directs and oversees a team of exceptional designers who craft the user experience for our real estate products and services. This leadership position plays a critical role in establishing our identity across our product design and communications -including visual and interactive design, design language systems, brand creative development, and content.

Responsibilities
• Play a central role in recruiting, mentoring, developing and retaining Opcity design talent
• Oversee design team members based in Austin Tx
• Cultivate strong partnerships across Engineering, Product, Marketing, Data Science, and other key business areas
• Clearly set and articulate a vision for the design team that informs the strategic direction of our products and services
• Inform and shape overarching design strategy and quality bar through a deep understanding of our users
• Communicate and evangelize the strategies and tactics of a product/design-led organization
• Translate vision into action through exceptional communication and people management skills
• Build relationships with the marketing team and own the intersection of design functions
• Strengthen influence and respect as the face of Design within the organization and collaborate with stakeholders to align vision with org strategy
• Evangelize design team’s impact
Qualifications
• 10+ years experience in design; at least 5 years of experience developing and leading teams
• Demonstrated expertise in the fundamentals and methods of digital design and user experience
• Portfolio of exceptional work you have driven as a creative leader is a must.
• Proven ability to bring products to market and improve through both iteration and innovation.
• Established track record of mentoring and leading creative teams.
• Evidence that you pursue a collaborative approach to problem-solving and organizational alignment.
• Demonstrated fluency in using design principles to drive decision making and cohesive user experiences
• Digital enterprise experience design is a must, digital consumer design experience is preferred
