As a Lead Designer for Vrbo, you’ll provide visual direction and ideate concepts for Vrbo’s B2B go-to-market campaigns and project initiatives. This is an exciting role where you will help to evolve the creative strategy and design presence of our communications with our vacation rental partners. You will collaborate closely with other members of our department including creative directors, designers, art directors, motion designers, copywriters, producers and technical specialists as well as members from our Partner and Product Marketing teams. What you’ll do:

  • Concept, design, and visualize content for all marketing channels.

  • Produce digital designs and optimize the way we create design toolkits, style guides and design templates in order to scale our content at a global level. 

  • Keep up with industry innovations and trends as well as social media and general design trends.

  • Monitor consistent use of brand elements, helping to ensure a cohesive brand experience.

  • Bring a systemic point of view to problem solving, yet you know how to isolate specific design issues and opportunities

  • Identify, investigate and validate design problems within multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Be a champion for the team and by working hard, respectfully and humbly, you earn trust and respect from your colleagues and managers.

  • You are an expert in Sketch and have experience working with Design Languages and style guides.

  • You demonstrate tried and true best practices, but when necessary you invent the new standard.

  • You bring a systemic point of view to problem solving, yet you know how to isolate specific design issues and opportunities.

  • You aren’t limited by device or platform, yet you are versed in responsive web and native mobile design.

Skills & Requirements:

  • MFA, BFA or BS in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, or equivalent experience.

  • 8 plus years of experience in relevant, related agencies or brands.

  • In depth knowledge of design principles, atomic design methodology and experience simplifying complex systems.

  • Advanced command of standard design and layout applications (e.g. Sketch, PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience working in an agile team environment.

  • Strong portfolio that demonstrates originality, innovation and multi-disciplinary thinking.

  • Strong visual design skills that work across all forms of digital and social channels.

  • Careful attention to detail and sensitivity to version control issues.

  • Ability to process information supplied by client/strategy/account services and translate into visual ideas and executions.

  • Strong verbal communication skills. Able to articulate your creative process, thoughts, ideas and a point of view about your work.

  • Strong prioritization skills
