We're hiring a Senior Designer to join Babylon Health and contribute to the vision, strategy, roadmap, build, and implementation of Babylon Health’s Design System of UI components, icons, language & interaction patterns across mobile and consumer web, called DNA. 

With a focus on accessibility and inclusion, you will work with your engineering partners to create Color, Type, and Iconographic systems that support the wide range of members across Babylon Health’s global ecosystem. 

You will design foundational patterns, components, tools, and processes that enable designers and engineers to build scalable solutions. You will partner closely with product teams to align on new design system needs, track status, and communicate updates.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

• Overview and contribute to the development of the Design System and drive implementation and documentation.
• Work across product teams to identify emerging patterns and turn them into reusable components in response to product and business requirements
• Collaborate with developers and engineers to ensure design quality and to maintain and create new components for our library.
• Design and define interaction patterns through components, documentation, and prototypes
• Specify and maintain our core principles in visual style, typography, spacing, motion, and interaction models.
• Continuously conduct end-to-end audits of our UI, visuals, and design system, come up with designs to solve for discrepancies and push the visual design system forward, while considering Babylon’s brand and Mac, iOS, Android, Windows design guidelines.
• Be a digital inclusion champion and ensure all components enable Babylon to deliver fully accessible experiences.
• Ensure our Design System meets, and exceeds, standards and guidelines for accessibility and digital inclusion
• Provide a thinking and implementation framework for accessibility and inclusion in both the design and development process.
• Collaborate with UX Researchers to test as needed to ensure usability and consistency.
• Be a Design System advocate and support consistent adoption and foster design teams’ engagement.
• Create documentation to ensure quality output and consistency across products
• Advocate for design pattern usage across teams with different goals and priorities
• Answer questions and provide support to users of the design system
• Be comfortable presenting the system’s mission, library, and process to other groups, including product managers, content specialists, QA, and other design and development teams throughout the business.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 7+ years of UX-related work experience
• Excellent interaction design and visual craft skills including experience with prototyping 
• Deep understanding of how to create usable, accessible, and modular designs that can scale to millions of users
• Demonstrated skills for collaborating closely with other designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers
• Demonstrated experience leading projects from discovery through shipping/iteration.
• Steadfast empathy for our members, their lives, and their needs
• Clear, compelling presentation and communication style
• Thrives in ambiguity and fast-paced environments
• Technical knowledge (ie. HTML, CSS) that enables close partnership with engineering
• Strong experience in accessibility and WCAG requirements
• Proficient in Figma, including libraries and reusable components
