About the Design Team

project44 has a multidisciplinary design team that acts as a silver thread running throughout the business and product. From product, to user research, and design systems, we use design to differentiate and position ourselves as the market leader. We start every project with customer research, and ensure that we're proud of everything we ship. Our team plays a vital role that ensures we focus on the right problems, craft creative solutions, and deliver gorgeous experiences to our customers.

The Product Design team advocates for our customers and works alongside Product, Engineering, and our customers to deliver the best solutions and experiences. 

This Role

You’ll join as the Principal Product Designer focused on our core visibility platform; enabling the world’s largest supply chains to increase efficiency, sustainability, and predictability. You’ll design interfaces for the logistics teams from some of your favorite brands: Starbucks, Tesla, Peloton, and thousands more.

In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with design, engineering, and business leadership to craft novel and innovative experiences that push our platform forward. You will lead major initiatives that span across all parts of our platform and change the way our users interact with project44. 

As a Principal designer, you will play a leading role in the design process. Helping transform the company’s long term vision into thoughtful, beautiful experiences for all of our customers around the world. You’ll conduct foundational research and deliver magical product experiences across customer segments, personas, and geographies. You’ll curate the interaction patterns and standards we use to build our products — as well as have a major impact on the way we work as a design team. You’ll play a key role as mentor to other talented designers on our team.

You will report to Q Carlson, the Senior Vice President of Design.

• You have extensive experience as a design leader in B2B software teams— either at a technology company, design agency, or similar
• You have a diverse portfolio across multiple industries and a track record that highlights your ability to solve business problems with design
• You're highly collaborative, with experience advocating for multiple personas, and building alliances with stakeholders both internally and externally 
• Your craft is unmatched and held up by others as the gold standard to strive for
• You use user research and evidence to communicate need and influence your design decisions
• You can communicate design, design value, and our process to a wide variety of audiences, including executive leadership

Bonus points:

• Experience designing interfaces to help users collaborate together
• Use of data to tell compelling stories
• Examples where you had major authorial or editorial ownership over a design language
• Examples of where you built workflow products to solve operational challenges

Travel

We value a hybrid work life — with regular in-person touch points and collaboration. You’ll also have the opportunity for regular international travel to customers and our other global offices.

Location

Our design team is distributed. So we’re happy to have you based in one of our design offices in the United States: New York City, Chicago, Austin, San Francisco, or Portland.

Our process

Our goal is to provide a simple and straightforward interview process — providing you and our team ample time to get to know each other. There’s no homework assignments or challenges. 

You can expect a process to follow these steps:

1. An intro call with a member of our talent team
2. Zoom call with Hiring Manager 
3. Zoom based Portfolio Review with members of our design leadership team
4. In-person or virtual “on-site” day with members of our design and product teams
5. Reference check
6. Offer!
