Want to improve the lives of a few million people?

We’re looking for a passionate people-focused Senior Manager, User Experience leader to join the team crafting tools used by millions of people around the world.

You’ll lead and grow our US-based team of Designers, Researchers, and Copywriters.

At Fourth, UX has a “seat at the table”, so you’ll partner with colleagues in Product Management and Engineering as we set product strategy, ensuring we provide a cohesive, top-notch user experience across a large product portfolio. You’ll also work well outside of our team, as you build partnerships with colleagues throughout the company, including Customer Success, Customer Care, Marketing, and Sales.

You’ll report directly to our most senior Design leader as a part of our UX leadership team, collaborating with your counterpart who heads up our European UX team, to set and drive important initiatives. You’ll be supported at every step by peers and leaders who are invested in your success.

Sound exciting? Great!

What You'll Be Doing. . .

  • Manage and scale our US-based Design team
  • Mentor individual members, regularly providing guidance and performance feedback
  • Support each person on your team by laying out clear, measurable goals and helping to identify opportunities to achieve the next step on their career path
  • Define vision and strategy for products
  • Reduce friction within projects and teams
  • Evolve our design function, processes, and culture as a part of the UX leadership team
  • Work with leaders and individuals in other groups to ensure we remain aligned with our overarching strategy
  • Ask “why?” and “what if..?” to guide thoughtful iteration

What You Need to Have. . .

  • Experience in providing constructive criticism to those on your team, your peers, and your manager. You also know how to receive and apply it for your own growth.
  • A natural inclination toward transparency and respect
  • A focus on collaboration paired with adaptability to take advantage of the individual personalities, and skills of those on your team
  • A passion for user-centered design, an ability to understand complex systems, and an understanding of how to unite user and business goals
  • Experience leading a UX design team, including hiring and helping your team grow

What About a Portfolio?

  • We’d love to see your design work, but we're more interested in your management experience. So, a portfolio is not required, but if you are able to share some of the achievements your team(s) has accomplished with your leadership, we’d be excited to see it.
