Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Designer to join us and be a part of the transition to clean energy technologies. You’ll primarily be accountable for the design direction of our Studio X product lines, which are focused on creating a community of data, earth, and climate scientists by providing them with the tools that help them find problems, collaborate with each other, leverage large data sets, develop machine learning models, and solve critical pieces of the larger climate technology puzzle.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Ensure our work communicates clearly, is on-brand, and delights users 
  • Translate customer insights into concepts, personas, user journeys, storyboards, system maps, user flows, wireframes, visual design comps, and prototypes with Figma, Miro, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud and other tools
  • In partnership with product and engineering, you will balance customer frictions and needs with business goals, market viability, and technical feasibility 
  • Execute and deliver on product designs based on product requirements and testing outcomes 
  • Lead and participate in concept sessions leveraging ethnographic research and design thinking 
  • Leverage design systems and component libraries to design a coherent user experience in support of each of our product lines
  • Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams including, Product Managers, Engineers, Marketers, and Content Strategists by articulating recommended design decisions and trade-offs both verbally and visually

What You’ll Bring: 

  • 6+ years of professional experience as a designer (ideally interaction design as well as visual design experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in standard design and presentation applications such as Figma, Miro, Sketch, InVision, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Google Slides
  • A portfolio of past work to demonstrate your skills
  • Proven experience delivering concepts, personas, user journeys, storyboards, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, etc. 
  • Proven experience delivering an end-to-end experience in a digital product design and development 
  • Able to work independently with minimal support 
  • A ready, online portfolio 
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams at all levels 
  • Entrepreneurial in spirit; must have demonstrated the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment 

Preferred Skills 

  • Exemplary design sensibility and command of standard design applications. 
  • Experience working with clients and executives.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively analyze, synthesize, recommend and take actions 
  • Experience with prototyping software and video is a plus. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (minimum 6 years) work experience 

Time Commitment / Travel Requirements

  • Full-time role with 100% of your professional time dedicated to the venture 
  • Up to 25% travel may be required
