This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. This position requires employee to be onsite 1-3x per week.

About the Software Development Manager Role
As a Software Development Manager, you will be leading and delivering innovative software solutions that are well-designed, scalable, and provide a high-quality user experience.
You will ensure that software is designed and developed using sound, repeatable and industry standard methodologies, including but not limited to standards in code quality, performance, stability, security, and overall alignment and compliance with project objectives.
This role is expected to be proficient in:
- Technologies across software, test automation, build, deployment, and operational processes.
- Leading & Developing top technical talent from new college hires to very senior user experience researchers, designers, and developers.
- Taking strategic ambiguities and turning them into actionable plans that the teams can execute to.
- Critical thinking and possesses the managerial courage to take calculated risks and define create solutions for opportunities that arise.
- Injecting new technologies and methodologies, looking ahead and build future-proof solutions and systems.
- Working across multi-functional teams, be comfortable working in a matrixed organization and aligning diverse stakeholders.
- Define and Drive socialization and outreach efforts to build a culture of innovative & intuitive solutioning.
- Define strategies for the advancement of user experience, design, and development within the organization.
- Serve as a community leader and advocate for the adoption of UX/UI best practices across our organization.
- Define a means to measure your team's productivity towards the advancement of the charter for this team.
Additional Description
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related experience.
- 10+ years developing cutting-edge, enterprise applications.
- 3+ years of leading teams or efforts of 10 or more people.
- Demonstrated expert knowledge in technologies (Angular, Javascript, CSS, HTML)
- Experience with stakeholder alignment, communicating, and presenting to senior executives.
- Experience with planning, organizing, and leading multiple scrum teams.
- Demonstrated portfolio and resource planning and delivering within scope and budget.
- Very strong project management skills and experience.
- Facilitated high level of team engagement across diverse functional areas.
- Demonstrated experience in putting into practice highly purposeful software development methodologies (i.e. Lean Software Engineering, Agile, Scrum, etc).
- Experience in building a culture of automation in testing, CI/CD, and DevOps practices with end-to end application ownership from conceptualization onwards to development, testing, and support.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of managing multiple engineering teams.
- Experience with InnerSource and/or Open Source projects.
- Expertise in driving large programs/campaigns across multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
- Recruiting and Hiring top talent.
- Strategic planning, roadmap creation, and project plans to look ahead and deliver world class software.
- Expertise in User Interface Design and Development.
- Expertise in User Experience research
- Expertise in Security standards.

COMPENSATION
The median level of salary compensation for this role is $107,484 - $139,584
