The Creative Team at WP Engine builds stunning digital and creative experiences for our customers through our digital marketing efforts. As our Sr Designer/Jr Art Director, you’re responsible for creating beautiful, functional campaigns and high quality design alongside a collaborative team of creatives!

As a Sr Designer/Jr Art Director, you'll work with WP Engine’s creative services team to design marketing campaigns, illustrations, event assets, landing pages, social and paid media, and sales materials. In addition to rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty, you will have opportunities to direct marketing campaigns and mentor other designers.

The day to day.

You will be in-charge of generating and maintaining assets for our website, advertisements, emails, social media, brand guide, print materials, and more, ensuring consistency of brand across all digital customer touchpoints. With an in-depth understanding of our product, market, and messaging, you will be able to execute creative campaigns and strategic concepts that meet our business objectives and advance our brand objectives. While collaborating on design and production through all stages of the creative development, you will ensure high-quality, on-budget and timely delivery that meets or exceeds expectations. Depending on the project, you will participate in or lead meetings with internal stakeholders, designers, copywriters, project managers, or vendors to coordinate, create and deliver creative assets and design files.

You will report to the Associate Creative Director and will work closely with the creative services team, ensuring that all assets are produced with clear direction, on schedule, and on brand. You will also sync with other departments as projects are prioritized.

Your skills and expertise.

• Has 5+ years of experience in design or art direction at an agency or in-house
• Has a delightful portfolio showcasing relevant projects
• Has strong illustrations skills creating assets for multiple channels (web, social media, animation, ads, video)
• Has a good understanding of the current design principles and methods
• Has an outstanding understanding of branding, typography, color, and layouts
• Is excited to work within our current brand guidelines and help us evolve as new opportunities arise
• Has the ability to take creative direction
• Has the ability to push creative boundaries and innovate
• Has the ability to work efficiently and independently
• Has extraordinarily polished written communication skills
• Is team oriented and driven to crush goals
• Loves to collaborate, mentor and inspire other creatives
• Is very comfortable in Adobe Creative Suite and similar design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD, Figma, etc)
• Is familiar with WordPress
