  • The Senior Instructional Designer/Curriculum Developer will have lead responsibility for growing and maturing the training curriculum for SailPoint’s catalog of SaaS software products. They will work collaboratively with colleagues who take pride in their work, can depend on each other to make things happen, respect opinions and like to work hard, succeed, and have fun.

     

    The Designer will design, develop, deliver, and maintain high-quality, effective hands-on learning for technical cloud software products. Learning is delivered in multiple modalities including in-person instructor-led, virtual instructor-led and self-paced eLearning. The Designer must be able to lead and collaborate with SMEs, instructors, technical writers, and content delivery teams. The designer is responsible for managing the schedule, balancing content across courses, driving updates, writing and editing storyboards and scripts, and working with the production team, always with a goal to elevate the learning experience.

     

    This is an exciting opportunity to not only work with and grow new training content, but also help achieve SailPoint’s identity security vision. The designer will have great influence on curriculum development and delivery teams while developing multi-modal content on SailPoint’s products. We are looking for smart, technical, skilled people who can communicate at all levels, that are passionate about implementing cool and efficient solutions that enable fast learning with unbiased evaluations.

     

    Abilities and Responsibilities:

    • Able to use sound instructional design to create courseware for a suite of technical SaaS products

    • Enjoy meeting and communicating effectively with SMEs and stakeholders globally to validate all analysis, and demonstrate / validate content

    • Keen ability to define learning objectives and create objective performance and knowledge checks to validate a learner’s mastery of course content

    • Enjoy developing detailed, engaging, task-based training for an audience ranging from technical implementation and administration teams to business administrators and end users

    • Skilled at leading small teams to develop content collaboratively, with precision, speed, and transparency

    • Excel at creating media assets or leverage existing assets, perform image manipulation/optimization and modification of design layout to suit changes in the content

    • Able to participate in peer-review as part of a development team: design documents, analysis documents, storyboards, content drafts of other Course Developers

    • Passionate about quality. Eager to drive continual improvement of assigned courses based on feedback

    • Able to envision new methods of delivering content for complex cloud products

    • Able to lead discussions on revising content style standards and collaboratively create / revise

      them

    • Able to learn and use supported SailPoint products to develop, test, and validate technical content of training materials

    • Capable of holding highly-technical conversations with engineering SMEs

    • Understand modern engineering practices (even if you aren’t a software / hardware engineer)

    • Have an acute attention to detail

    • Strong organizational and time management with the ability to follow through on multiple tasks

      and projects in parallel

    • Ability to work collaboratively and independently as part of a global team

     

    Experience and Qualifications include:

    • At least 10 years of experience in the development of training programs for self-paced (eLearning) and instructor-led instruction for the software field; SaaS software experience required

    • 5 plus years leading teams designing and developing enablement content (technical training for software implementers, partners, system administrators, and business users, etc.) required

    • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in instructional design, including training task analysis, writing objectives, curriculum and lesson planning/design, implementation, and evaluation

    • Excellent technical writing, editing, and verbal skills, especially in US English required

    • Proven ability to simplify complex information into an easy-to-understand format

    • Proven ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and work across

      functional teams – internally and externally, in-person and virtually

    • Solid capabilities in at least one procedural programming language required

    • Understanding of one object-oriented programming language desired

    • Understanding of web services concepts required. REST API concepts desired.

    • Mastery of Web-services development tools (i.e. postman) desired

    • Mastery of standard content development tools including Microsoft Office, Camtasia, Audacity,

      Articulate, and at least one online presentation tool (for example: WebEx, Zoom, Adobe Connect,

      etc.) required

    • Demonstrated detailed knowledge of at least one Learning Management System (Learndot

      Enterprise preferred) required

    • Experience teaching technical content a plus

    • Desire to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

    • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment

    • High standards for work quality, self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision

    Education:

    Masters in Instructional Design with a computer software background; or BS or MA in Computer Science (or similar) with an instructional design background; or equivalent experience
