Position Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity available to join our incredibly talented Design team at Kendra Scott! Primary responsibilities will include overseeing the creation of technical specification documentation and related internal communications necessary to effectively and efficiently sample product created by the Design team.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the technical specification documentation and internal handoff communication on behalf of Design team to cross-functional partners
• Create and maintain Visual Assortment sheets in Photoshop that capture all jewelry collections
• Lead Technical Design team to implement new or improved “best practices” in collaboration with cross functional partners
• Lead technical specification team to meet deadlines
• Establish standards for technical specification documents and technical packets
• Proofread and edit specification sheets, training the team to produce the highest quality documentation
• Oversee and/or create and input stone and material orders into tracking sheet
• Leader in the manipulation of metal and stone based on style requirements in Photoshop
• Participate in and/or lead relevant meetings with Design team and cross-functional departments
• Own follow-up communication on product expectations to technical development team
• Maintain consistent communication with Design leadership to achieve best results in all areas of responsibility
• Maintain Design Excel Tracker
• Maintain a clean, efficient and safe working environment
Design Team Member:
• Champion the Kendra Scott design aesthetic, quality expectation and innovative mindset
• Maintain a high level of communication and collaboration with Design leadership and peers to
ensure continual progress toward timely, accurate and cohesive assortment completion
• Confer within Design team and cross functional teams to develop and assess best practices for
day-to-day operations and organization of all shared design data
• Contribute your own and regard others’ personal aesthetic opinions to enrich team perspective
• Maintain a clean, efficient and safe working environment
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• 7+ years’ experience as s Technical Jewelry Designer for a high-growth company
• A proven ability to lead and execute with consistent delivery and reprioritize based on evolving business needs
• Excellent ability to communicate 3D information with a particular focus on
production/manufacturing capabilities
• Knowledge of costume and fine jewelry construction-stone settings as well
as working mechanisms including clasps and hinges
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Excellent attention to detail
• Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop:
o Creating pictures of faceted stones
o Editing chain to fit into a specific shape
o Building mockups of styles
o Recolor mockups according to seasonal colorways as needed to assist cross-functional teams
• Must be organized, able to act independently, as well as take direction, and able to switch rapidly between different projects in a fast-paced environment
• A strong ability to build cross functional partnerships and work collaboratively
