What would I be doing? Leading one of our engineering teams with a hands-on, writing-code approach to help create our drone software platform for first responders.  Our Engineering Managers are hands-on and are focused on:

• Improving our team through training, best practices, code reviews, and one-on-ones
• Helping Engineers meet their career and personal goals
• Growing our team by hiring candidates that add strengths where we’re weaker
• Knocking out bugs so the team can stay focused on an important goal
• Brainstorming software approaches with the team to make sure the best product is created
• Working closely with customers, QA, project managers, product managers, and DevOps to get great features and fixes into customers’ hands
• Increasing our test coverage in critical areas

Would I be a good match for this position?

• 4+ years of experience managing Engineering teams
• 7+ years developing with the technologies we use
• 10+ years hands-on development experience
• Solid understanding of development best practices 
• Communicator who is flexible with the development process flow, but always tries to improve it
• Strong desire to help your teammates learn, grow, and improve their skills 
• Passionate about taking care of your team while helping the rest of the company too
• Excited about working with drones, robotics, and first responders
