UX Researcher
Q2 is seeking a UX Researcher to help us evolve and evangelize our research practice within our line of commercial lending software tools for financial institutions. Working as part of our mature UX Research team, the UX Researcher will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional product teams to lead them through the research process from end to end. This will include educating stakeholders on methods for conducting rigorous research, research project management, recruitment of participants, moderating live research sessions, facilitating data collection, and completing data analysis.
The ideal candidate for this role is organized, a strong communicator and comfortable collaborating with international teams. They are skilled in storytelling and listening. They understand that uncertainty is a necessary part of UX, and that there is rarely ever just one right answer.
Responsibilities:
Build relationships with and educate cross-functional product teams on methods for conducting rigorous research with end-users.
Manage research projects with minimal supervision and rigorously weigh the merits of various research methods for a given problem.
Conduct mixed-methods user research and testing of both concept-stage and in-progress design work, as well as work with other departments to formulate research plans
Transform amorphous requests for research into rigorous project plans.
Recognize, deeply understand, and analyze user experience issues without introducing bias.
Engage internal and external research participants through recruitment, screening, study moderation, and compensation.
Facilitate both live and asynchronous research sessions.
Generate and reliably analyze both qualitative and quantitative data for the needs of product teams
Implement surveys, usability test scripts, interview questions, card sorts, tree tests, and other research techniques
Develop effective research presentations and reports to communicate results and recommendations
Collaborate with the rest of the UX Research team on additional research initiatives as needed.
Requirements:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience; or equivalent related work experience
Strong collaboration, verbal communication, written communication, and presentation skills.
Self-starter with the ability to create structure in an ambiguous environment
Familiar with UX Design best practices and principles.
Experience working with UX Research tools such as Qualtrics, Optimal Workshop, Dovetail, and UserInterviews is a plus, but not required.
