Summary

The UX/UI Designer will lead the usability and design during the development lifecycle for our mobile and web platform.  You will work alongside product management, development, and business stakeholders to drive a user-centered design approach.  You’ll meet with customers to better understand their needs and pain points and use design thinking to deliver an awesome user experience.  This role reports to the CTO and embodies a passionate, creative, yet pragmatic design leader that can empathize with customer needs and behaviors, identify opportunities, and successfully transform complex requirements into clean elegant solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·         Collect and use qualitative research and quantitative analysis to inform design decisions and product strategies

·         Convey design ideas in tangible forms like sketches, wires, mocks, and annotated asset libraries

·         Create rapid iterations and present multiple solutions to a design problem and show different approaches

·         Test approaches with our community user group to make sure we are hitting the mark

·         Design and deliver exceptional outcomes that elegantly and intuitively anticipate the needs of our customers while also meeting business objectives

·         Work with Development and QA on new features to insure high-fidelity implementations of the UX vision

·         Continually evolve skills and stay up-to-date on design best practices

·         Become an expert in System Surveyor’s platform and deeply understand our customer’s needs

Minimum Job Requirements

·         Bachelor's Degree in Interaction Design or equivalent industry experience

·         Minimum of 3 years participating in the complete software lifecycle process for software applications

·         Minimum 3 years of experience designing for web AND mobile applications

·         Demonstrable experience working on responsive web sites as well as native mobile apps

·         Strong understanding of iOS and Android design guidelines

·         Strong understanding of user experience and interaction principals within the constraints of mobile devices

·         Experience creating web fonts and SVG icons

·         Proven proficiency in using prototyping tools like Adobe XD, Sketch, InVision, Axure

·         Attention to detail with an ownership mentality
