The Director of Marketing Operations and GTM Engineer plays a cross-functional leadership role at Team 201, overseeing client marketing systems and campaigns, while also helping yo shape the agency’s internal AI & GTM engineering strategy. This role blends technical expertise with creative marketing execution, ensuring both client programs and internal workflows are efficient, data-driven, and future-forward.

You’ll lead the architecture and implementation of scalable marketing operations programs across client accounts, while also piloting and refining AI-powered initiatives to drive campaign effectiveness. You’ll act as a force multiplier, helping our team and clients do more, faster, and with smarter insights.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage multi-channel marketing campaigns for clients with a strong emphasis on email marketing performance, deliverability, personalization, and segmentation
  • Use AI to streamline and elevate campaign workflows—content generation, segmentation logic, subject line testing, send-time optimization, and performance analysis
  • Own the strategy and maintenance of client martech stacks (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, Pardot, Marketo), ensuring seamless integration and automation across platforms
  • Architect lead management systems including lifecycle stages, scoring, routing, and attribution models—where relevant for campaign strategy
  • Collaborate closely with creative, strategy, and analytics teams to deliver high-performing programs across client accounts
  • Establish agency-wide best practices and templates for campaign setup, QA, documentation, and post-campaign analysis
  • Lead the development and execution of the agency’s internal AI strategy—evaluating tools, designing processes, and enabling team adoption across client services, campaign execution, and reporting
  • Stay on top of AI and martech trends to bring innovative ideas and efficiencies into our work
  • Develop and lead internal workshops and resources to upskill the team in AI and marketing operations practices
About You

You’re a rare blend of strategic thinker, systems builder, and marketing tactician. You love the challenge of making campaigns work harder with better data and smarter workflows—and you’ve got a deep curiosity about the power of AI to push those efforts further.

You balance experimentation with structure. You think in systems, design for scale, and care deeply about the quality of what ships. You’re the kind of leader who elevates the whole team: clear, collaborative, and generous with your expertise.

More specifically, you are:

  • Deeply curious — you ask smart questions, explore new tools, and stay ahead of what’s possible in martech and AI.
  • A systems thinker — you see how data, tools, processes, and people connect, and you design programs that work end-to-end.
  • Built for scale — you create repeatable, resilient frameworks that can grow across clients and campaigns without losing effectiveness.
  • Committed to high-quality delivery — you believe in rigorous QA and testing frameworks to ensure campaigns are reliable and clean.
  • A true team player — you collaborate naturally across creative, strategy, and analytics, and you win with the group.
  • An excellent communicator — you’re crisp in client conversations, clear in documentation, and confident facilitating teams.
Requirements & Key Areas of Expertise
  • 6+ years of experience in marketing operations, campaign management, or martech strategy
  • Strong expertise in building and optimizing email marketing programs (segmentation, deliverability, nurture flows, A/B testing, etc.)
  • Experience leading internal change management efforts around AI adoption, automation tools, or new technologies
  • Hands-on experience with platforms like HubSpot, Salesforce, Marketo, Pardot, and tools like Clay, Zapier, ChatGPT, or similar AI solutions
  • Solid understanding of integrated campaign execution across channels (email, paid, social, web)
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript, Python, JSON, and SQL to support advanced automation, data integration, and custom-coded solutions
  • Ability to build or manage integrations between martech tools using APIs and webhook frameworks
  • Experience with B2B tech audiences and performance-based marketing
  • Ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders and deadlines
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and team facilitation skills
  • A strong learning mindset—you love experimenting, iterating, and sharing knowledge
Salary & Benefits
  • Salary dependent on experience (6-figure range)
  • Competitive PTO (12 Paid Company Holidays + 25 Days PTO, Sick & Quarterly Recharge Days)
  • Employee health, vision, and dental insurance
  • Company 401k Program, 3% automatic contribution from company
