Job Description

We’re looking for a Chief of Staff, Engineering, to join Procore’s Engineering department and directly support the SVP of Engineering in scaling and growing the 430+ Engineering org. This senior position is highly visible in the organization, involves frequent interaction with the executive team, and sits on the Engineering Leadership Team.
This position reports to the SVP Engineering and will work from our headquarters in Carpinteria, CA, or remotely. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.


What you’ll do

  • Serve as a trusted business partner with the ability to provide strategic counsel to the SVP of Engineering and act on their behalf when relevant

  • Drive quick, strategic decision making by providing necessary data and insights at the Executive level

  • Attend meetings and calls on behalf of the SVP of Engineering

  • Act as the communication arm for the engineering organization with other executives, leaders, and major stakeholders

  • Organize and run effective cross-functional working team meetings, including curating agendas, managing time, and documenting and driving the completion of action items

  • Serve as a liaison between Engineering and other departments such as recruiting, Finance, Talent organization, Learning and Development, Product, and UX

  • Confer and collaborate with Engineering directors, managers, and relevant personnel to ensure operational and process changes are working successfully


What we’re looking for

  • Prior experience as a Chief of Staff in an Engineering org at scale

  • Deep understanding of engineering processes and best practices 

  • Strong relationship skills with the ability to foster a sense of community with cross-functional stakeholders

  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills and an ability to manage others to meet deadlines

  • Ability to move seamlessly between conversing with engineers, operations teams, and Senior Executives

  • Problem solver and strategic thinker who is comfortable using frameworks and data to help structure the team's thinking and solve multi-faceted problems

  • Experience in managing resourcing/staffing, and having worked directly with VP & C-Suite level regularly

  • 5+ years of previous experience in people management is preferred
