At Optii Solutions, we design, build, market, and maintain intelligent tools for hotels to thrive in the modern world.  We are growing, and seeking an individual who will serve in a key leadership role as our Chief Technology Officer.  This strategic role will lead our technical vision around our hospitality solution that deploys predictive technology that maps daily room attendant routes based on guest profiles and hotel needs.  Our product is utilized by some of the top hotels in the world, and the potential growth is limitless with the addition of great talent, particularly in this key technical leadership role.

In this newly created role, the CTO will report to the CEO, and is responsible for leading a global engineering team, which includes providing mentorship and leadership around technology projects in all Optii product solutions.  The primary responsibilities include:

  • Provide leadership and build relationships across multiple teams of front-end, back-end software engineers, dev ops, architecture and quality assurance analysts.
  • Strive to drive a best-in-class solution, applying creative thought to drive time and quality goals. Partner and collaborate with product, sales, marketing and other stakeholders to understand requirements and develop project plans to drive a strong product and be a leader in positive business impact
  • Develop and manage the development, architecture and overall IT roadmap with input and be a part of the core leadership team
  • Maintain project schedules and metrics and provide weekly progress to the leadership team
  • Review functional specifications and designs
  • Resolve product issues timely and provide thorough, regular updates on bug fixes
  • Roll-up sleeves and assist with in-house technical support as needed

The ideal candidate must have proven experience as a leader of people and must enjoy and thrive in a leadership capacity and want to be a part of a start-up culture to drive clear business success.  This individual must have an outstanding ability to collaborate effectively, meet deadlines, think out of the box for creative solutions, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work with accuracy.  The successful candidate must also embrace and advance the principles of superior client service both internally and externally, and continuous process improvement.

Core Competencies/Knowledge and Skills

  • A passion for great leadership in a startup environment and 3+ years proven track record in people management
  • 10+ years of experience building high performance, highly scalable, web application platforms
  • Successful track record working with overseas, remote teams as well as building teams
  • Proven team & hands-on technology leadership experience; comfortable in an agile results-oriented team environment
  • Must be able to travel internationally occasionally  
  • Analytical nature with the ability to solve complex business issues
  • Excellent business process and best practices experience or aptitude
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to build effective internal relationships 

Experience/Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar (or equivalent experience).  
  • Prior experience in hospitality or travel technology is a plus
  • Enterprise-level business project experience with strong process analysis, design, and documentation skills

Other Requirements

  • Currently remote, but may resume to hybrid after a safe return to work is allowed
  • Will regularly be working early hours to communicate with our international teams, typically during the hours of 7am and 10am
  • Flexible scheduling to accommodate early morning availability
