If you’re a hands-on architect who understands that in the world of cloud-based services there are large overlaps and a blurry line between the roles of software and infrastructure architect. You have more than a few years of experience in a fast-paced development environment and have grown a SaaS solution from supporting hundreds to thousands to millions of users. You’re not a fan of PowerPoint architects and recognize the need to roll up your sleeves and develop alongside other engineers in bringing your designs to life. You understand the complexities inherent in building and operating a micro service architecture and recognize that the real answer to “How long will the platform upgrade take?” is forever as platforms must continually evolve.

As a Cloud Architect you will work closely with Product Managers; Designers; and Software, Quality, and DevOps engineers to evolve the reliability and performance of our services and infrastructure. By designing and implementing innovative solutions to challenging problems of scale you will play an instrumental role in massively improving the operational health of IdentityNow. 

What You’ll Make Happen:

• Lead the charge in defining our multi-year platform strategy, adjusting along the way as the technology and business landscape evolves.
• Influence product strategy by collaborating with product teams.
• Contribute to the ongoing decomposition of larger products into smaller services.
• Support the evolution of data models within a variety of relational and NoSQL databases.
• Stay abreast of current SaaS design trends and technologies and recommend which to avoid, which to adopt, and when.
• Champion our technology to internal and external stakeholders by meeting with customers, speaking at conferences, and producing content for white papers and blog posts.
• Work across the development stack; you may specialize in one core technology such as Java, Javascript, or Ruby, but you are comfortable learning new technologies and have skill in many different technologies to draw on.

Requirements:

• BS in Computer Science or related technical field, MS or PhD preferred.
• Significant demonstrable experience designing and implementing products and services on top of the AWS stack.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in Internet products and technologies, 5+ using Java.
• Experience working in an environment involving rapid development of modern, service-based HTML5 applications.
• Background in and understanding of testing including unit testing, integration testing, and scale testing.
• Experience analyzing business requirements and decomposing them into technical solutions.
