Cyber Security Senior Engineer – Architecture
As a member of the Cyber Security organization at Blackbaud, the Cyber Security Senior Engineer – Architecture is a specialized position that plays a key role in securing our systems, networks, and the applications built and/or used by the company. You can expect to work closely with datacenter, cloud, and security teams as well as third-party organizations to ensure that security, privacy, and compliance requirements are anticipated and that solutions are adequately designed and built into our platforms. In addition to securing the enterprise you will be expected to monitor the general security landscape and research current trends in the industry in order to optimize and align our Cyber Security processes to their respective reference frameworks.
The Cyber Security Senior Engineer – Architecture is expected to identify solutions to complex security problems while participating in a diverse and agile Cyber Security team, working on multiple security architecture assessments, and executing on specialized projects with minimal oversight. Additionally, you will be responsible for building relationships with business and operational units, as well as engineers across the organization, and for promoting security principles and practices. Also, you will identify, evaluate, and address cyber security risk in all areas of the enterprise and, as a member of the Architecture team, you will be responsible for influencing, building, and assisting with information security solutions to enterprise challenges within Blackbaud.
What we’re looking for:
You are either an experienced security engineer who has been working with modern, cloud-oriented technology in agile development environments, or you are a security practitioner who understands network security and security best practices and wants to get closer to designing and architecting security from the ground up.
This role will involve highly technical engagements with multiple teams and across all platforms. Familiarity with common security frameworks is required; understanding cloud and datacenter technologies (I.e.: how they are designed, how they are built, and how they can be defended) is critical; exposure to and understanding of highly complex environments is mandatory.
A successful candidate should have experience with, and a deep understanding of, network security solutions, incident response processes, cloud platform terminology, SaaS offerings, Identity and Access Management capabilities, Multi-Factor Authentication solutions, and VPN architecture. An ability to quickly adapt, process new information, and learn is key.
The Cyber Security Architecture team at Blackbaud is committed to ensuring security issues are prevented, discovered, and/or remediated in collaboration with our engineering partners across the business and seeks to design environments capable of resisting compromise.
