I am looking to bring on a data architect on a part-time basis, with a high probability of converting to full-time if the product succeeds.
The application will be a web/desktop agnostic data visualization tool, essentially Tableau for the non-technical. I have a very detailed UX outlined for the core use case, and am working on developing some hi-fi prototypes of the same. However, you would have a lot of creative control of the UI, as well as hands-on customer-facing work if you'd like.
Your compensation would be as follows:
- 10% kickback on every software license conversion (the cost model is ~$10/month per person, so you'd receive ~$1/month for every purchase).
- 10% additional commission if you find the customer yourself.
- 2 free-forever software licenses to the institutions of your choice, including a free personal knowledge and training session conducted by me and/or the CTO (or you, if you prefer).
- If we agree for you to come on full-time, you would be named Chief Data Architect and get 10% ownership equity in the company.
- Once we get funding, you'd be free to negotiate whatever salary you want. Basically all of the seed and Series A would actually go to you for salary, team-building and tech procurement budget. All I'd want is a basic salary to keep the lights on at home.
1-3 would stand whether you decide to come on full-time or not. Those are only contingent on getting the software into production.
My own background is as a freelance Tableau developer, analytics product manager, and Deloitte consultant, so I have solid experience working with both engineers and customers from a variety of industries.
