What You'll Do

As a DevOps Engineer, you will support our engineering team by enhancing and scaling our infrastructure. You will also play a vital role in taking infrastructure and engineering pipeline projects from proposal to deployment to maintenance. You will have broad opportunities to create real impact with minimal red tape. You’ll be expected to take ownership and keep pace with the rapidly changing DevOps/SRE landscape and suggest best practices.

  • Improve, build, and maintain b.well’s run-time infrastructure and CI/CD
  • Work with our engineering teams to manage releases
  • Make developer’s lives easier with automated tooling and a focus on DX
  • Work with the engineering team to maintain uptime, quickly diagnose production issues, and remedy production issues
  • Work closely with other engineers to build systems that accelerate the entire engineering team
  • Improve and scale the existing products and tools
  • Build and improve on existing logging, monitoring, observability, and alerting solutions
  • Launch new projects from ideation to completion
  • Monitor for and reduce security risks
  • Migrate production infrastructure to a new Kubernetes setup
  • You will safeguard sensitive data by following policies and training concerning your security and privacy responsibilities

 

Notches in your belt:

  • 3+ years of professional programming experience
  • 3+ years professional experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, or equivalents
  • Experience with deploying and supporting Docker containers in production
  • Significant understanding of encryption, infrastructure security best practices, and network security best practices
  • Python programming experience
  • Know how to build stable, secure, scalable, and observable web infrastructure
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, Codeship, or equivalents
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills across application, database, and cloud infrastructure
  • Self-motivated
  • Very comfortable on the command line


Great to have:

  • 1+ years running Kubernetes in production
  • Experience with IaC: Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar products
  • Django or other Python framework experience
  • Familiarity with mobile release CI/CD such as Fastlane or others
  • Experience working with offshore development teams
  • Startup experience


Blow Us Away:

  • Be a seasoned Kubernetes expert
  • Familiar with healthcare regulatory standards like HIPAA, HITRUST, HITECH
  • An active GitHub profile or other public code portfolio
  • Active Stack Overflow profile
  • Documented work on open source projects

We are conveniently located in North Austin, but currently, all work remotely (sometimes in our pajamas).
