We are looking for a DevOps Manager to help take our DevOps team to the next level.  The successful candidate will possess a strong technical aptitude in the area of DevOps while simultaneously possessing strong management and leadership skills. 

You will work closely with software development team managers, architects, and product managers to anticipate the organization’s many DevOps needs and lead the team (and our organization) towards success.  We are looking for someone who can come in and immediately make an impact helping guide the DevOps team in best practices and architectural direction.

The position offers opportunities for planning, leading, and implementing the future direction of our DevOps organization.  This includes cloud solutions, continuous integration, and deployment infrastructure engineering, machine learning operations, release operations/automation, QA support DevOps, and our many other DevOps needs.  This is a high visibility role where the candidate will successfully lead the DevOps team towards a common infrastructure to run machine-learning solutions.

If you were working for us today, you would be:

  • Working closely with other managers, product managers, and architects in order to set the direction and priorities of the DevOps team
  • Providing functional direction and support to a team of DevOps engineers who are responsible for DevOps, infrastructure engineering, and release operations, etc.
  • Providing technical leadership, guidance, and knowledge of DevOps best practices to your team
  • Understanding our products, anticipating their DevOps needs, and enabling the team to successfully meet those goals
  • Further defining and building out our infrastructure engineering capabilities
  • Providing leadership as the team architects and iterates on our cloud infrastructure capabilities
  • Managing and improving the day-to-day operations of our build, testing, and continuous integration environments
  • Supporting an effective developer workflow including build, test automation, and deployment
  • Implementing best practices for always-up, always-available services
  • Leading and mentoring DevOps engineers

 

You would be a great fit for our team if you have:

  • 7+ years of software development and DevOps experience combined
  • A strong ability to lead a team of DevOps engineers, assess their strengths, and enable them to succeed in their day-to-day work
  • Excellent communication skills and be able to interact effectively with other members of the management team.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment
  • Extensive experience with production cloud environments on Azure, GCP or AWS
  • Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration
  • Experience with automation/configuration management using either Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform, or an equivalent
  • Experience with at least one programming language: Bash, Python, C#, Java, etc
  • Experience with development operations of continuous integration, automated testing, build automation, and automation of dev process
  • Experience designing and rolling out scalable infrastructure using container orchestration systems like Kubernetes
