NSS Labs is seeking a Director, DevOps in Austin, Texas to lead the architecture and strategy for our VMWare based architecture team.  This is an exciting and critical position on our engineering leadership team. You will be responsible for end-to-end automation and Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD)  as well as management for the team including hiring and staff development. This role will report to the SVP, Product and Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Deployment of web application to Google Cloud, C#/.net and python-based application to the virtual infrastructure in our private data center.
• Responsible for data center infrastructure and network architecture and security. The ability to architect is key.
• Lead design of the Virtual Architecture and infrastructure to support the application.
• Support engineering and test teams on automating and setting up new lane deployments consisting of complex virtual environments.
• Coordination with Engineering team and Product Owner(s).
• Responsible for customer support, customer and new lane provisioning.
• Manage Google Cloud infrastructure.
• Run and manage security controls for the product lanes.
• Participate in 24x7 site reliability rotations, escalation workflows, and production incidents managements.

Required Skills and Experiences:

• 10+ years of progressive experience in engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in engineering leadership capacities.
• Expert with infrastructure automation using HashiCorp tools, Terraform, Consul, Normad or similar.
• Hand-on experience with scripting languages and programming languages (Powershell, Bash, Ruby, Python, Golang or similar).
• Minimum 5 years managing infrastructure and applications in a production environment.
• Minimum 5 years managing Windows OS Systems (Desktop and Server).
• Minimum 5 years managing Linux Systems (RedHat, CentOS, etc).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with VMware.
• Experience using configuration management tools such as Chef, Ansible, Salt or Puppet.
• Experience with Elasticsearch and Postgres (or MySQL) relational databases strongly preferred.
• Experience with Docker and container management frameworks (Nomad, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm).

• Experience with various build automation tools (e.g. Gitlab, Jenkins).
• A thirst for knowledge, learning, and problem solving.
• Strong oral/written communication, time management, problem solving, and analytical skills.
• Experience working in public cloud a plus (Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure).
• Understanding of networking, IP addressing, and DNS.
• Experience with storage solutions (SAN/NAS) a plus (Dell Compellent, Tintri, Qumulo, etc).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education/experience.
