We're looking for a world-class Director of Engineering with the character, skill, and backbone to build the next great technology business, starting with our product engineering team.

What you'll do:

• Partner with the product, engineering, and operations teams to deliver mission-critical exceptional products in a timely manner
• Lead the engineering team in setting goals, managing extremely aggressive timelines, and building high-quality, well-architected code
• Hold the bar for excellence extremely high, never lowering it
• Keep discipline with code reviews, without losing the fast-paced demands of a startup
• Ensuring we build quickly, yet always in a way that enables growth
• Act as a tenacious thought-partner for executives in ensuring the platform is built well to meet both short term goals and long term durability and growth
• Hire and mentor A+ engineering talent, both local and outsourced
• Implement best practices, always striving to learn new ways of doing things better.
• Provide technical guidance to engineering teams and senior leaders

Who you are:

• 5+ years of software development experience
• 2+ years of experience successfully managing and building high performing teams of up to 30 engineers
• Able to take on complex problems, learn quickly, and push relentlessly towards scalable solutions
• Well-versed in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems
• Possess a strong record of shipping code in an incredibly fast-paced, agile environment
• Experienced with ambiguity and rapid changes common in early-stage product development
• Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid changes common in early-stage product development
• Experienced with cloud infrastructure
