Chive Media Group is seeking to expand its engineering team at its HQ in Austin. We are looking for a Director of Engineering to help with leading our development teams for our portfolio of products across web, mobile, and native apps.

You'll be a key part of an evolving line of products, working in a small startup like environment and interacting with several teams within Chive Media Group. Proficiency in working with WordPress, Shopify, and dynamic web applications is a must. This individual will be passionate about code and development efficiency, optimization, meaningful documentation, and testing.

You MUST reside in the Austin, TX area for consideration.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Help lead engineering teams across our eCommerce, media (web and native), and online betting platforms
• Oversee web, mobile web, and native app development
• Work with Product to bring projects to fruiting from planning to implementation/release
• Collaborate and communicate with various departments including Editorial, Sales, Marketing, and Monetization to understand problems and create solutions 
• Architect new features into the existing platforms/products
• Lead project scoping, planning across projects and platforms
• Work in a fast paced and constantly evolving marketplace 

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams
• Proficiency in WordPress, Shopify, JIRA, and Google Analytics
• 5+ years developing in PHP, MySQL; iOS/Android experience is a plus
• Experience with DevOps: Continuous Integration, Configuration Management, Git, etc.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Experience working with and leading remote teams
• Project and Product Management experience
• You make data-driven decisions
• You have attention to detail in every step of the product process from gathering requirements, to writing documentation, to approving development work
• You’re a self-starter; you don’t need to be micro-managed
• Experience at a consumer internet company, ideally in the media or entertainment space
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
