Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience in technical leadership.
• Experience in enterprise technology or building B2B Legal systems.
• Experience growing and building teams.

Preferred qualifications:

• Ability to be hands-on technically and have a good understanding of full stack engineering.
• Ability to explain your team's analyses and recommendations to managers and discuss the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

We have a leadership opportunity for an Engineering Directing responsible for our Legal Works team. Our Legal Works Engineering team partners with Legal and the broader Global Affairs division to provide products and services to address Legal Investigations, Legal Discovery, Content Quality, Contract Lifecycle Management and IP. Google's existing assets in ML, Search and Knowledge Graph are the foundation for building innovative, impactful solutions for Legal. In some cases, we’ve open sourced these solutions as a means to positively affect the broader enterprise technology landscape.

As the Engineering lead for Legal Works, you will lead a team of Google engineers. You will also work closely with Product Management and UX. Your responsibilities will span across defining the problem, building the product, developing and nurturing an exceptional engineering team, collaborating with business and establishing right sized processes.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with PM and Legal teams to develop a multi year product vision.
• Convert the vision into a roadmap that keeps an optimal ratio between moving the product forward and technical debt. Provide transparency into the roadmap and most importantly make it happen.
• Ensure that your teams ship incrementally, constantly and with high velocity and that products built meet a high engineering bar.
• Establish sound development practices, code and design reviews are examples.
• Develop engineers, technical leads and engineering managers.
