Babylon Clinical Engineering (Sick Loop) exists to use technology to create the very best, most efficient experiences for our members, clinicians and clinical staff globally. Many encounters with a physician lead to a prescription or script. Believe it or not, studies show that 20 - 30% of prescriptions are never filled (picked up) and up to 50% of medicines for chronic disease are not taken correctly. Here at Babylon, we want to deliver a first-class prescriptions experience for our physicians, pharmacists and members. Issuing, fulfilling, and picking up a prescription should be an easy, guided process whether you are based in the US, UK, Canada, or Rwanda.

You will be leading a team of engineers focused on Babylon’s global prescriptions engine. You’ll get to dive deep into the domain, learn about how scripts are delivered globally and build a first-class global solution for our clinicians, pharmacists, and members. You’ll be building a cross-functional team, across our web portals (React), app (React Native), and back-end (Java and Ruby) systems. Working on Babylon’s established microservices, workflow, app platform, and integrations platforms you’ll transform the prescriptions and scripts experience for our users and get direct feedback from our clinicians and pharmacists.

WHAT WE USE

• Babylon has a cloud-first, microservices approach. Build and operate software on our kubernetes platform with React, React Native, Typescript, Java and Spring Boot. Use best-practices in CI/CD, automation and SRE-ops to bring the best of modern software engineering to the medical domain.

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years experience with Java or similar server-side stacks. Experience in full-stack roles and with React / React-Native a key differentiator.
• Experience in engineering leadership is an advantage - but this could also be your first Engineering Manager gig!
• Deep understanding of CI/CD, TDD, Platform thinking, and SRE/Devops principles.
• Experience architecting systems and microservice / distributed concepts.
• Enthusiasm for coaching your team, from developers to Engineering Managers.
