    Expedia Group’s VR Rates And Inventory team is looking for talented software engineers wanting to get involved in delivering an outstanding experience to our Partners for managing their property pricing and availability. Allowing our Partners to manage their pricing and availability ​in a quick and seamless manner ensures more bookings, fewer cancellations and more revenue for their business.

    We are a full-stack team, developing and maintaining large distributed systems globally at scale. As a member of the team, you will be at the forefront of our business strategy, building the experience that supports our initiatives and continues to streamline the day-today Partner interactions with our applications.     What you’ll do:

    As a Software Engineer, you will ensure that our application performs well, that each code change leaves the codebase maintainable, that the visual design is meticulously up to spec, and that our product conforms to the product requirements that you’ll play a part in defining.

    Successful contributors on the VR Rates and Availability partner team exhibit more than just outstanding technical prowess; they will possess uncanny product intuition, the ability to communicate effectively, and they strive to be respectful and empathetic to everyone.

    You’ll be building critical new features to support our growth, execute our product vision, and help us continue to scale our millions of partners and properties. We work with a broad set of technologies, and we’re looking for someone comfortable moving across the stack to deliver a quality product.

     

    Some of our ongoing initiatives in the coming year include:

    • Consolidating two existing applications for managing availability and pricing into a single new, streamlined and completely redesigned experience
    • Building features in response to COVID-19 to help improve both traveler and partner booking experiences
    • Ensuring feature parity with the new web experience and native mobile applications for Pricing and Availability in order to ensure seamless and accurate booking.

     

    Specifically, you will:

    • Write automated unit, integration and acceptance tests as appropriate to support our continuous integration pipelines
    • Support and troubleshoot data and/or system issues as needed
    • Resolve problems and roadblocks as they occur with help from peers or managers
    • Follow through on details and drive issues to closure
    • Help define, develop and maintain artifacts like technical design or stakeholder documentation
    • Actively participate in code and design reviews
    • Participate in user story creation in partnership with the team and Product Owner

     

    Technologies we use:

    NodeJS, React, hapi.JS, Java, Mongo DB, Docker, Dropwizard, Kafka, New Relic, Datadog, Terraform, Jenkins, Javascript, TypeScript

     

    Who you are:

    • You have 1-3+ years of front-end or full-stack software development experience and write code in JavaScript / TypeScript or Java, and have experience with production systems in cloud systems like GCP or AWS.
    • You have experience delivering customer-facing software to hundreds of thousands or millions of users
    • You have strong computer science fundamentals including design patterns and algorithm complexity analysis
