Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer with Ascension Technologies, you will contribute to the creation of our robust suite of cloud-native applications in the rapidly growing healthcare software industry. You will be a member of an agile product development team working collaboratively with others to deliver software that sustains and improves the health of individuals and communities.
You will get to work in our brand new, creatively stimulating, Domain located office space we are calling the "Digital Studio" in Austin, TX (#1 in U.S. News Rankings - Best Places to Live). Primary Responsibilities Include:

• Leverage your polyglot abilities to deliver solutions to challenging problems
• Participate in overall system architecture and development
• Shape and embrace team values and commitments
• Participate in design and code reviews
• Actively advocate for continually improving quality and engineering practices

Requirements
Education:

• High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree required.

Additional Preferences

• 7+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong fundamentals/foundation for HTML, CSS, JS
• Experience with React and Typescript
• Experience with Agile methodologies
• Openness to new ideas and an unceasing desire to learn new things
• Ability to design, architect, and lead major feature or project development with minimal guidance
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, a positive mindset, and a collaborative spirit

Desired Skills:

• Experience designing and developing cloud-native, scalable, and highly available distributed systems
• Experience with testing using Jest and Enzyme
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (MySql, Postgres, Mongo, Redis, etc), SQL, and database/schema design
