Job Description
Membersy builds payment tools and subscription infrastructure for the evolving dental industry. We are helping small startups and the world's biggest Dental Service Organizations (DSOs) democratize access to quality dental care through subscription-based dentistry. Our mission is to reorient the dental industry's existing payment methodologies by empowering forward-thinking DSOs with the platform they need to engage their communities with innovative payment solutions and competitive, transparent pricing options. And we'd like your help.
We're looking for a highly motivated and career-driven individual to lead the company's Engineering team as the Head of Engineering. In this role, you will be reporting to membersy's CEO and CPO.
With our recent $66 million Series B investment from Spectrum Equity , the time is now to join team membersy.
Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for Engineering activities across the business
  • Initiate and develop creative and innovative engineering processes and workflows
  • Ensure that engineering strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery targets and which enables the company to function and compete effectively in the market
  • Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities
  • Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budget process
  • Deliberate with management, product, and marketing staff on the possible requirements and procedures for a project
  • Help define and set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Ensure that engineering and quality standards and procedures are strictly adhered to
  • Establish quality and reliability standards by studying industry benchmarks and the requirements of customers and research/design and development, and define the metrics required to assess performance against standards required


Requirements

  • Previous experience as a VP of Engineering or in a similar senior-level position with a tech-enabled growth company
  • Extensive experience with building complex applications using large data sets and/or building applications related to payments and transactions across multiple parties
  • Hands-on experience in back-end and front-end development with an eye for good UI/UX
  • Good understanding of agile and scrum methodologies
  • Strong leadership abilities with a strategic mind and collaborative mindset
  • High emotional intelligence and experience with pulling out domain knowledge from an existing team
  • Ability to recruit, build, and maintain a strong Engineering team consisting of unique talents
  • Must have managed and worked with a distributed workforce (onshore and offshore)
  • Experience developing an in-depth product roadmap(s) with the product team

  • Languages: PHP and Javascript
  • Frameworks: Laravel and React.js
  • Database: SQL
  • DevOps: Git, Bitbucket, Asana, Jira, Confluence, automated build and deploy
  • Stripe API or related payments API experience
