We are seeking a cloud infrastructure architect to help us continue to accelerate our growth. You will work with a team of product architects, DevOps engineers, and product developers to continually improve our cloud infrastructure and deployment processes, delivering unmatched user experience to our customers and partners.
You are highly experienced in modern cloud architectures for SaaS products, and enjoy finding elegant solutions to difficult technical problems. You bring a keen eye for quality and a strong drive to improve and simplify.
Challenges you can work on:
- Containerizing our applications and services using Kubernetes
- Building solutions to deploy, monitor, and analyze event-sourced, loosely-coupled microservices
- Implementing painless security and data management practices that protect sensitive user information
- Developing responsive solutions to data analysis, visibility, and reporting needs
Technologies:
- AWS, MySQL, Elasticsearch, Kafka, Consul, Vault, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Java, Scala, Ruby
Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for the overall cloud infrastructure design and execution, working in conjunction with other architects, DevOps, and engineering teams
- Lead and participate in architectural investigations, reviews, and decisions
- Evolve environments that increase deployment efficiency and system reliability
- Provide hands-on technical leadership, code review, and contribution
- Participate in resolution of production issues and lead efforts toward solutions
- Provide strategically critical inputs to the organization and drive the technical vision and roadmap
- Work with product teams to determine infrastructure needs and direction
- Lead the evaluation and selection of infrastructure technology choices that accelerate our engineering teams
- Promote deployment best practices using best-in-class tools and methodologies
- Mentor developers on both the infrastructure and product development teams to improve deployment excellence
Requirements:
- Deep familiarity with cloud infrastructure providers, preferably AWS
- Experience deploying Kubernetes clusters in production environments
- Experience with microservice architectures
- Experience operationally managing message/event streaming systems like Kafka
- Familiar with deploying and managing SQL and NoSQL data stores, such as MySQL, Postgres, and Cassandra
- Experience with security practices within containerized environments
- Experience working with Agile methodologies
- Demonstrated success as an agent for change evolving production cloud environments
- Strong leadership skills resulting in cross-organization collaboration and partnership
- BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
