Our team is growing and is driven to make a difference for the patients we serve. We are looking for a hardworking, results-focused Lead Localization Engineer with a proven internationalization background to join our Customer Experience Journey team to help set our internationalization strategy and develop foundational capabilities to internationalize/localize products and content at scale.

What you’ll do:

  • Set internationalization standards for Invitae’s web, mobile and internal database platforms.
  • Drive end-to-end localization engineering workflows and platform integrations in collaboration with product, engineering and program owners.
  • Collaborate with engineering and TMS vendors to propose technical solutions for localizing Invitae’s internal platforms and set up QA workflows.
  • Own technical setup and maintenance of Smartling including configuring and implementing Smartling solutions (proxy, connectors).
  • Own Investigation of technical issues and proactively resolve localization bugs.
  • Set a scalable internationalization playbook and own localization engineering metrics.
  • Drive continuous localization strategy with the goal of constantly improving localization processes and automating workflows.
  • Mentoring software staff in technical aspects
  • Help facilitate problem solving across teams and groups

What you bring:

  • 5+ years of localization engineering experience
  • Strong technical domain knowledge (internationalization, RTL language localization, mobile app's localization)
  • Strong understanding of internationalization standards and libraries such as Unicode, ICU and CLDR.
  • Solid internationalization engineering experience for web and mobile development
  • Experience collaborating across the organization - integrating with numerous teams
  • Experience with the full localization life cycle, standard methodologies, and industry translation management systems (Smartling)
  • Proven experience in software tools development, automation, and systems integration
  • Experience localizing a wide range of content formats (software, services, web-content, documentation, CMS, Knowledge Base, advertising/PR, social media, audio, video, etc.)
  • Strong experience with RTL languages localization.
  • 2+ years of experience with at least one modern programming or scripting language (React, Java, JavaScript, C/C++, C#, Python, Rust)
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and the ability to stay focused under pressure
  • Passion for automation and continuous improvement.
