Mission

As an SRE (DevOps) you will build out the real-time infrastructure to power the world's first artificial intelligence for sales. You will be setting up and maintaining our cloud-based infrastructure and work to constantly improve our performance and reliability. You will also work closely with developers to set up continuous integration and ensure that new features can be deployed quickly and smoothly. Use cutting-edge technologies such as AWS, GCP, Node.js, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, NoSQL Databases (MongoDB, Firebase), Ansible and Terraform to continue to scale our infrastructure.

• Building infrastructure to process gigabytes of data per day and thousands of API calls per second.
• Focus on automating and creating information out of the measurements as Tenfold builds the highest-scale and most advanced analytics platform in the world.
• Building fault-tolerant systems to handle millions of events per hour with each event processing as optimized as possible.
• Create processes and architecture to monitor and maintain Tenfold systems to pre-empt problems before they ever threaten our customers’ workflows or data.
• Document everything to make processes repeatable.

Outcome: Change the current architecture designed to be able to scale without increasing the complexity to manage the services. Outcome Measures

• Automate everything including provisioning, configuration, monitoring/alerting, and anything not automated.
• Design and deploy auto-healing and auto-scaling capabilities, working with engineering to make this possible.
• Addressing fundamental tasks to include failure avoidance, security, patching, CVEs, ...
• Continuously test resilience, auto-scaling, and security.
• Help develop and implement our continuous deployment strategy and process.
• Hold weekly 1-1 meetings with architecture/ops team.
• Maintain a structured and safe process for employee/contractor onboarding and off-boarding.

Competencies

• Unwavering commitment to operational security and best practices.
• Ability to take ownership of the documentation, process, cross-team collaboration, and overall strategy.
• Ability to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Strong development skills using JavaScript, Python, Java, or Go.
• Strong cloud systems management experience in either AWS or Google Cloud and previous experience on virtualized and bare metal systems.
• Experience with monitoring systems using tools like Sensu and writing health checks.
• Experience working with HashiCorp tools like Terraform, Vault, Consul.
• Experience with keystore like (e.g. Vault).
• Experience building and managing big data infrastructure services.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
