RapidDeploy is hiring a Lead Software Engineer for our US based engineering team. You will work in an agile environment leading a team of software engineers, delivering user-oriented products in a fast–paced environment. Your primary responsibilities will be to design and develop applications, and to coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is essential.
What You'll Be Doing at RapidDeploy
- Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation
- Provide your team with insight into the product roadmap and articulate technical direction and considerations
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, coaching and/or training to software developers and other team members as appropriate
- Identify and resolve potential risks and issues; works across the global organization to implement mitigation plans and processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and other teams, including RapidDeploy architects and Product Management, to ensure communication & coordination
- Partner with Human Resources to ensure check-ins with engineers, approve time off, understand company policies, and mentor/upskill junior engineers.
- Establish strong relationships with Scrum Master, Product Manager, and Product Owner to create team goals, ensure timelines are met, and establish processes and best practices.
What You'll Need to be Successful
- Experience in highly collaborative work environment and team player attitude
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, message queuing and asynchronous and multi-threaded applications
- Skill for writing reusable C# libraries
- Familiar with various design and architectural patterns
- Familiarity with Domain Driven Design and Event Sourcing would be advantageous
- Knowledge of concurrency patterns in C#
- Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
- Experience creating database schemas that represent and support business processes, including ORM frameworks
- Familiarity implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Detail oriented with excellent verbal and written skills; ability to communicate at detailed technical level as well as to distill advanced concepts into fundamental principles for teammates
Technical Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience working within the .NET framework
- Advance skills in C#, with a good knowledge of its ecosystems
- Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server and NoSQL
- Familiarity with JS Frameworks (Angular, React) strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Microservices and SignalR
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
- At least 2 years of technical lead experience preferred
- At least 2 years of experience in cloud environment (Azure preferred) required
Preferred Experience
- In depth knowledge of cloud telephony systems
- Understanding of some or all aspects of omni-channel: call routing, call flow, IVRs, SIP, telephony edges, queuing, softphone, call recording, Workforce Management, SMS, AI/ML, Chatbots, et
