Manager, Software Engineering
Q2 is seeing a Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of developers and designers focused on the delivery of an industry-changing fintech platform. You will be working at a company whose mission is to build stronger communities by strengthening their financial intuitions and with FinTech’s and startups who want to bring change and innovation to the financial world. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated leader with a passion in the career development of their team members, process improvement, and a history of building and maintaining both internal and external client relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Build partnerships, work collaboratively and communicate effectively to achieve shared objectives
- Provide guidance, oversight, and leadership to team developers and designers
- Drive the team toward the vision, direction, and culture of Q2 and the Product & Engineering organization
- Coach team members through regularly scheduled 1 on 1’s, maintaining development and satisfaction
- Manage individual and team performance expectations and goals
- Oversee staff onboarding, including interviews and new team member selection process
- Develop and hold the team accountable for quality assurance and checkpoints to ensure quality and timely delivery
- Monitor and impact key metrics and efficiencies
- Develop a team that creates and adheres to Q2's best practices
- Evaluate and introduce constant improvements to the development process
- Analyze project metrics and align initiatives with department direction
- Engage stakeholders within Q2 to ensure team goals are met
- Exemplify the Q2 corporate culture and spirit
- Manage conflict to ensure team members feel respected and are allowed to function at their highest level
- Responsible for ensuring that all security, availability, confidentiality, and privacy policies and controls are adhered to
Experience and Knowledge:
- Typically requires 3-6 years of previous work experience in a similar management or leadership role
- 1-2 years of project management experience and managing deadlines
- Strong team leadership qualities with proven experience growing and mentoring teams
- Excellent written/oral communication skills and ability to interface effectively with peer managers as well as senior management
- Attention to detail, exceptional follow-through, the ability to prioritize, stay organized, and multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Familiarity with enterprise software deployment architecture and methodologies
- Experience building, growing, motivating, and mentoring high-performance teams
- Strong organizational, process, leadership, and collaboration skills
- Possesses and utilizes a coaching mentality, and is able to execute through others
