Manager, Software Engineering

Q2 is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of developers on technical, design, and use case workflow aspects for delivering an electronic banking software product. This individual will be focused on the quality and efficiency of the software development life cycle with an eye toward process improvement, team leadership, and individual mentorship.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and manage a software engineering team
Hire and build high-performance teams that meet and exceed baseline expectations
Develop and hold the team accountable for quality assurance check-points to ensure quality and timely delivery
Monitor and impact key metrics and efficiencies
Assist teammates and evangelize best practices
Provide guidance and mentorship to developers and the implementation team on the software development life cycle
Transition the team to a consultative approach to product development, more interactive with our customers with a goal of delivery of a solution
Evaluate and introduce constant improvements to the development process
Work closely with the Delivery Managers and Project Managers to provide technical support, work through challenges, and resources for projects
Work closely with Product, Implementation, IT/Data Center Operations, and Customers to troubleshoot complex issues
Engage the stakeholders within Q2 to ensure team goals are met
Analyze project metrics and align initiatives with department direction
Responsible for ensuring all security, availability, confidentiality, and privacy policies and controls are adhered to
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a minimum of 6 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 4+ years of experience.
Typically requires 1-2 years managing and developing employees.
Agile delivery experience required
Strong team leadership qualities with proven experience building, growing, motivating, and mentoring high-performance teams
Excellent written/oral communication skills and ability to interface effectively with peer managers as well as senior management
The ability to remain calm, diplomatic, and cooperative under stressful conditions
Attention to detail, exceptional follow-through, the ability to prioritize, stay organized, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with enterprise software deployment architecture and methodologies
Experience building, growing, motivating, and mentoring high-performance teams
Articulate, thorough, and process-minded
Experience within a multi-tiered environment
Extensive experience of the software development life cycle with a specific focus on requirements, design, and testing
