Principal Software Engineer – Design and develop an extremely high-volume, fault-tolerant, scalable distributed system that uses React, Hooks, Formik, Redux, NextJS, Typescript, GraphQL and other technologies. Work with stakeholders in product management to understand business requirements. Work with other disciplines to drive cross-functional efforts. Shape development processes to promote a high-quality output while continuing to iterate quickly. Own and review deliverables for accuracy, quality, performance and completeness. Work with QA, operations, and support teams to ensure high quality production systems. Lead and manage a globally distributed development team. Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of members of the team. Participate in architecture & design brainstorming sessions, technical design reviews, formal code reviews and triaging software bugs.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or similar engineering discipline and 5 years of work experience in the job offered or related field of software development; or, in the alternative, a Master’s degree or equivalent and 3 years of work experience.

If qualifying by Bachelor’s degree, must have at least 5 years’ experience building extremely high-volume, fault-tolerant, scalable web-based systems; at least 5 years’ experience using Agile with Scrum methodologies; at least 3 years’ experience with HTML5, JavaScript, Rest API, JQuery, Dojo, JSON, Handlebars, Gulp, Yarn, CSS and LESS.; and at least 5 years’ experience building responsive web pages. Must also have at least 2 years’ experience working with performance profiling using tools like Splunk, Amplitude, Loggly, Sentry and Tableau; at least 1 year experience working with ORM frameworks like Active Record and Hibernate; at least 1 year experience with Java based frameworks like Struts, Spring; and at least 1 year experience working with Memcached/Elastic cache, Solr and Couchbase. Must have at least 1 year experience with advanced key-value stores like Redis, at least 2 years’ experience in working/scripting with cloud (EC2 or other); and at least 2 years’ experience with Microservices architecture.

If qualifying by Master’s degree, must have at least 3 years’ experience building extremely high-volume, fault-tolerant, scalable web-based systems; at least 3 years’ experience using Agile with Scrum methodologies; at least 3 years’ experience with HTML5, JavaScript, Rest API, JQuery, Dojo, JSON, Handlebars, Gulp, Yarn, CSS and LESS.; and at least 3 years’ experience building responsive web pages.
