Responsibility as a QA Automation Engineer:

As a QA Automation Engineer, you will serve as an integral part of the Point-of-Sale Integrations team. You will plan, implement, and execute automated functional tests in an Agile based environment.

You:

Write code as clearly as possible, rather than as cleverly. Understand how automated test code should be different than user-facing application code. See the value in doing a small amount of manual testing each sprint. Balance new ideas with consistency with existing code. Are more interested in refactoring and improving code than trying out new frameworks and tools.

We:

Prioritize code quality over coverage metrics. Have a mature structure to work inside, but lots of room for expansion and creativity. Think that understanding a feature is a prerequisite to automating it. Practice work/life balance. Have Dev, PM, and UX teams that respect and value QA.

Responsibilities:

•Writing functional automated tests

•Improving existing automated tests and addressing sporadic failures

•Tracking down possible bugs caught by automated tests

Required Skills and Experience:

•Writing automated tests. Programming proficiency in JavaScript is required.

•Manual testing of APIs: SOAP, REST.

•Testing web services using tools like SoapUI, Postman, Curl

•Working knowledge of relational databases and writing SQL queries for test verification

•Working knowledge of AWS serverless features: Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB

•Familiarity with AWS UI/Console

•Familiarity with CI/CD frameworks such as Jenkins

•Familiarity with JS testing frameworks such as Mocha Chai

•Experience with management software like TestRail

•Experience with log querying tools such as SumoLogic, Logz.io

Qualifications:

•Only Austin based candidates will be considered

•Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience

Our Mission:

We empower service-based organizations to master their operations, engage their teams and recapture work-life balance.

Our Vision:

Make the world a better place by spreading hospitality across the globe.

Our Values:

Hospitality - We go beyond the expected to provide unparalleled experiences and help our customers do the same.

Empathy - We started in a restaurant. Service of others - both externally and internally - is in our blood.

Community - We believe in the power of the communities we create and serve, our community of team members and in giving back to the communities we live in.

Fun - This isn’t just a job; it’s a calling, and we love it!

Accountability -We do what we say we’re going to do. If something happens to prevent that, we determine the new course and communicate quickly.
