About the Role
FloorFound is seeking a Senior Back End Engineer to help us build and extend our premier digital platform for circular commerce. You will join our small, fast-moving team, take ownership of significant product features, and have a direct impact on making our customers successful.
Responsibilities

• Create reliable and scalable, message and event driven back-end components in a service oriented architecture using Scala and related technologies on Kubernetes and the Google Cloud Platform.
• Design and build data models that reflect the business problem domain utilizing various storage technologies including Postgres and Elasticsearch.
• Work closely with a small team of developers through the product development process to plan, build, and launch new product components.
• Take ownership of quality and deliver full-tested software components.
• Help define and measure success to feed future data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working on data-driven applications using back-end programming languages and technologies such as Java and Scala.
• Exposure to and interest in functional programming concepts.
• Solid understanding of fundamental computer science concepts such as the practical application of data structures and algorithmic complexity.
• Energetic and has a passion for software development and emerging technologies.
• Entrepreneurial and team player attitude.
