Working at Atlassian
Atlassian can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Assuming you have eligible working rights and a sufficient time zone overlap with your team, you can choose to work remotely or return to an office as they reopen (unless it's necessary for your role to be performed in the office). Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.
We are searching for motivated engineers to join the Platform Adoption team in the US. Platform Adoption is a fully remote team split between USA and Australia, working around the Pacific time zone.
Our mission is to enable Atlassian to deliver value to customers faster by unlocking the power of the Platform. This team is at the forefront of all new Products developed at Atlassian.
We are exposed to a large set of technologies used in new products, acquisitions, and existing Atlassian products. Be aware that this is not your usual engineering team - a high level of autonomy while delivering sophisticated projects is required. This job is for you if you love a challenge!
Where you'll make an impact:
We are a small, but highly impactful cross-geo team based in the US west coast and Australia. As an engineer on this team, you will have the opportunity to work on initiatives seeking to reduce friction for Products to adopt our Platform capabilities.
Common problems that Platform Adoption aims to resolve, are focused around Capability discovery and the effort required to adopt such Capabilities in an existing or new Product. To address these we are working on multiple projects addressing these issues:
Discovery - finding out capabilities exists and understanding what its prerequisites are. We are building an overview of all platform capabilities, how they depend on each other, and who owns what capability.
Documentation - understanding how to use your capability, its limits, best practices, etc.. We do "Adoption Testing" with a dummy product where we try to integrate capabilities, write Playbooks showing example PRs of how to integrate it, raise problems encountered.
Onboarding - actually writing the code or making configuration changes to use platform capabilities. We are building a centralized configuration store so that in future products will be able to onboard onto all their desired capabilities with only one PR (instead of reaching out to many teams, reducing risk and quicker rollout)
This is done through centralized "hub" projects within the team, or by collaborating closely with platform teams across all Atlassian. You will be supported by other senior engineers, product and program managers throughout each project.
More about you:
The following are not required, but definite bonuses:
Our perks & benefits
To support you at work and play, our perks and benefits include ample time off, an annual education budget, paid volunteer days, and so much more.
