AffiniPay is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to help us build our next-generation platform. Our scalable, secure platform provides business-critical services to our customers directly as well as through our integration partners. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you are someone who really wants to make a difference and have a direct impact on the company’s business. You will work closely with our development team to ensure they have the tools needed to build, test, and deploy code with ease and ensure developer and QA engineer happiness. You will handle and maintain configuration management environments, processes, and tools.

Your day-to-day:
- Automate deployment, monitoring, management, and incident response
- Monitor site stability and performance and resolve site issues
- Scale infrastructure to meet rapidly growing demand
- Collaborate with developers to bring new features and services into production
- Develop and improve operational practices and procedures
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide emergency support outside of normally scheduled hours
- Design, provision, and manage cloud infrastructure in AWS
- Propose standard methodologies for continuous integration and deployment, performance and health monitoring, and alerting.
- Develop and implement internal tooling and automation
What we are looking for:
- 3+ years’ experience provisioning and managing infrastructure in a public cloud environment such as AWS (preferred), Google Cloud Platform, or Azure
- At least 3+ years’ experience within a DevOps type role.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, containerd, etc
- Solid understanding of how a Kubernetes Platform operates (service discovery, deployments, monitoring, scheduling, load balancing)
- Extensive experience with writing, debugging, and refactoring Bash scripts
- Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Ruby, Python, Java, Javascript (NodeJS), Scala
- Extensive experience with configuration management technologies such as Ansible (preferred), Puppet, Chef, SaltStack, etc
- Extensive experience utilizing Infrastructure as Code to provision and maintain infrastructure: Terraform (preferred), CloudFormation
- Experience with relational database systems such as MySQL (preferred) and PostgreSQL, to include writing and optimizing SQL queries
- Experience with Kafka is a plus
- Experience implementing and maintaining CI pipelines using Jenkins (preferred), Gitlab, Azure Devops, etc
- Solid understanding of networking concepts
- An understanding and passion for developing highly secure and highly available systems
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field
