The Opportunity

Stoplight is looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to help us scale and deliver our software solutions. You will be responsible for cloud infrastructure, continuous integration, testing, and deployment processes, system administration, and on-premise software delivery. You will be expected to take ownership of important projects and systems, and independently take them from planning to completion.

The Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, maintain, monitor, and support scalable cloud infrastructure (powering our SaaS product offerings)
  • Empower our developers to deliver quality-code through improvements in our continuous integration, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Improve our “on-premise” deployment option
  • Triage issues affecting production systems
  • Lead security initiatives
  • Maintain, monitor, and support internal corporate software and systems
  • Keep us up-to-date with evolving industry best-practices
  • Carry a (virtual) pager and take shifts “on-call” for production incidents

The Ideal Candidate Brings

  • Experience creating and delivering a SaaS product in an agile development environment
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure providers (preferably GCP)
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker and Kubernetes)
  • Experience with cloud networking (e.g., load balancers, reverse proxy, SSL)
  • Database experience (preferably Postgres)
  • Node.js experience
  • A pragmatic and flexible approach fit for a rapidly growing startup
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience with a hybrid SaaS/on-premise delivery model
  • Familiarity with the OpenAPI specification
  • Experience with microservice architecture
  • Experience with logging and monitoring tools (e.g., ELK stack)
