Position Overview: You will be responsible for helping Praetorian clients build security into their application development, as well as assist clients design and build secure platforms and products. The Praetorian Services team provides offensive and defensive advisory services to the Fortune 500 and venture-backed start-ups clients. We need a well rounded individual who not only has a deep technical background in both cybersecurity activities and software development, but who also has a fanatical obsession with customer success, and a relentless restlessness to strategically position and improve the Service department's DevSecOps offerings.

From software hacking to hardware hacking, we help secure everything from cryptocurrency exchanges and space telescopes to autonomous vehicles and the electric grid. Core responsibilities:

  • Lead DevSecOps engagements and projects
  • Create DevSecOps standard operating procedures and best practices 
  • Provide said practices to Praetorian's client base
  • Identify nuanced vulnerabilities in CI/CD pipeline systems
  • Coordinate with client teams to streamline code deployment process
  • Improve usability, efficiency, security, reliability, and performance of client software development efforts
  • Develop mitigation strategies for keeping our customers safe
  • Develop comprehensive reports and presentations for our customers
  • Train junior engineers on DevSecOps design, implementation, and deployment patterns

Required qualifications:

  • 5+ years of DevSecOps experience
  • Experience with modern technology stacks
  • Experience with micro-services architectures
  • Experience with cloud platforms and SaaS solutions
  • Experience with agile/scrum development practices
  • Experience with automation and ci/cd pipelines
  • BS in computer science, computer engineering, physics, or mathematics

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience in high-tech, start-up environments
  • Hands on experience scaling in the cloud
  • Experience with Google Compute, Firebase, Docker, and GKE
  • Experience with Git, Chef, CircleCI, JIRA, and Confluence
  • Experience with Google BeyondCorp design pattern
  • Experience with Java, Python, and Go
