Job Description

We are looking for a senior engineering manager to help lead our Optimizely Account Services team.

The Optimizely experimentation platform offers our customers a set of products and capabilities to power their online experiments and personalization on the websites of some of the world’s largest companies, including over 24 of the Fortune 100. Our Optimizely experimentation platform enables our customers to ideate, collaborate and share experiments and results within their organizations. The platform relies on a set of highly robust, performant and secure services to handle user authentication, role-based authorization and administration.

The Optimizely Account Services team is looking for a senior engineering manager to lead a team of talented engineers to build a set of core services required for every Optimizely customer - their account. Strong leadership of this team is key to enabling Optimizely to maintain customer trust and our lead in the Digital Experience Optimization market.

You will challenge and grow our engineers in this critical part of our product. Your primary responsibility is to your team - not only hiring and building it, but also ensuring that the members are growing as engineers, doing valuable work and thriving at Optimizely. You enjoy being of service to your team and to the larger engineering organization, and your leadership is grounded in empathy and compassion. You value the success and growth of your team over anything else.

You will have broad influence across engineering, product and customer success. You are excited by the opportunity to provide leadership across the organization to help influence and drive initiatives. 

What you’ll do:

  • Build and lead your engineering team and help the members of your team grow both technically and professionally

  • Own both the operational and directional aspects for your team

  • Lead, inspire, and influence your team to embrace modern engineering practices that enable them to frequently release high-quality and performant services

  • Work with the recruiting team to attract and retain high quality and diverse talent

  • Collaborate with other managers to ensure we are building products that provide a consistent and powerful experience across both our web and developer focused products.

  • Establish great rapport with Product Managers, Sales and Success to maintain high levels of visibility, efficiency, and collaboration

  • Have visibility, influence and impact across all of Optimizely’s engineering teams and product areas


Qualifications

You will be successful in this role if:

  • You have successfully built and managed a team of 5-8 engineers over the last 3 - 4 years

  • You have proven track record in delivering high volume, secure and performant authentication, authorization and administration services

  • You have demonstrated experience managing, delivering and owning the services end-to-end

  • You are able to thrive and lead multiple highly cross-functional projects at any time

  • You are not afraid to take initiative and help make an impact on the larger organization. 

  • You have solid organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and keep projects on schedule

  • You have solid track record engaging and collaborating across the organization in different locations
