At OneSpot, we’re on a mission to make online content individually relevant and personally engaging. 

We are looking for a senior front end JavaScript engineer with strong design skills to join us in this mission. In doing so, you will lead our development effort to build React powered dashboards that presents key analysis and content metrics to our customers. You will also be responsible for maintaining and building our site-personalization script that is deployed on the sites of major brands. This role combines technical leadership with user-interface development and product engineering. 

Ultimately, we are looking for curious and adaptable people who deliver results and think critically. It would also help if you have a good sense of humor and happen to be a champion ping pong player.

We are a small, venture funded startup that solves a critical problem for prominent brands that leverage content marketing. We offer flexible work arrangements and excellent benefits. We are located in the heart of downtown Austin, and already have a phenomenal team of senior engineers with whom you will join forces. 

All our code is written in modern JS, type checked with FlowJS, and transpiled via Babel. Our applications are continuously built and deployed. We value clean code. Complicated code is easy to write, but simple code is difficult.

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 5 or more years of JavaScript experience
• Comfortable and open to pair programming
• Desire to provide mentorship for junior engineers
• Experience creating data driven single page applications
• Comfortable with user focused design and modern design principles
• Experience with JavaScript build tools (npm, yarn, webpack, babel)
• Experience with React and the React ecosystem

“Can we hire you yesterday” skills

• Experience with static typing in Javascript (Flow or Typescript)
• Knowledge of Modern Javascript (ES2016 and above)
• Experience writing backend systems in NodeJS
• Experience creating metric dashboards
• Experience in content marketing
• Experience with continuous deployment
• Experience with UX principles and eye toward design
• Knowledge of recommender systems
