Senior Full Stack Software Engineer, Jira Align (Remote - U.S)
Atlassian is continuing to hire with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. All new and existing Atlassians will continue to work from home until it’s safe to return to our offices. When our offices re-open, we will provide the choice to work from home or return to work in an office unless a job requirement makes it necessary for a particular role to be performed at an Atlassian office.

You will be a be a key contributor to the Jira Align Development Platform, which strives to help simplify software at scale by bringing business and software development organizations together in one intuitive platform.
In this role, you will be a Senior Software Engineer and a key contributor working on core feature implementations, DevOps initiatives, and new platform functionality. With your software engineering skills and experience you will work on items including SAML/SSO, REST API, integrations, new and existing features in C# and other Microsoft languages and scripts. You will use your database and back-end knowledge for creating and optimizing stored procedures and indexes used by the application. With your DevOps skills and expertise, you'll help our development teams be more productive by assisting with infrastructure & process to deploy and operate cloud applications. Using your client and server side coding experience, you will help better the user experience creating responsive and interactive elements to enhance our rich user experience and via CSS.
You will be counted on to provide guidance and mentorship with hands-on development of internal development, testing, and continuous integration processes. You will have having a lot of autonomy and the opportunity to be involved in many different aspects of Jira Align.
More about you:
- 7+ years professional experience in a software development team
- Strong fundamental software development skills
- Strong proficiency in web-based applications and architecture
- Experience building and integrating REST APIs
- Resolution of customer issues involving code error diagnosis, debugging, validation, and root cause analysis.
- Expertise with server-side software development in software design, object-oriented programming. (preferred experience with .NET Framework (C#), Java, and/or NodeJs)
- Database MSSQL
- Browser/JavaScript fundamentals
- Scripting languages
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Security conscious
- You have experience making progress through product experimentation.
- You value progress over perfection and have a track record of shipping value to customers.
- Understands effects of technical decisions on customers
- A go-to person for technical guidance
- Use of instrumentation to for reliability and less code regression
It's great, but not required, if you have:
- DevOps experience building and supporting systems using a CI/CD pipeline
- Automated deployment and release management tools (ex. Octopus)
- Familiarity with AWS Fundamentals (ex. VPC, EC2)
- Familiarity / working knowledge with Java software development
- Experience building high quality in product monitoring
- Experience guiding junior engineers
