The Evernote Editor team is looking for an engineer who has what it takes to build production-ready web and desktop applications and is excited about building the best note editor on the planet.

About the team

We are the team that builds the Note Editor, a common component in all of Evernote's current and next-generation clients. We're currently working on building a brand new editing experience for our millions of users.

We are searching for a Senior JavaScript Engineer to join our team in Austin. This is an opportunity to work on a highly visible and interactive piece of software. We are working with some of the latest and greatest browser features and technologies to develop a growing set of application components.

If you love JavaScript, browsers, and have a deep knowledge of the DOM; you like working with a small, dynamic team that gets stuff done; and you love a challenge, we would love to meet you.

What you'll do

You will build a suite of components to be shared among all major Evernote applications. These will be used to make valuable contributions to billions of notes, and will be robust and reliable ways for our users to interact with their most important information. Attention to detail, passion for learning, and in-depth knowledge of the JavaScript language and browser environment are essential to success in this position.

• You will improve on new and existing web/desktop/mobile apps in JavaScript
• You will write code for multiple platforms (i.e. browsers, desktop web views, mobile web views)
• You will develop production high-quality software using an agile style development process
• You will work with QA, developers and designers to build robust, polished applications

What you've done

• You’ve worked with Javascript + React + Redux to build real-world web applications with performance, scalability, and maintainability in mind
• You have a BS Degree in CS, or similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
• You are able to adapt to new technologies and host environments for JavaScript
• Experience delivering production quality software within a small team of developers, QA, designers and product management
• Familiar with rich text editing in a browser
• You’re comfortable making software design decisions and weighing in on choices that impact everything from product design to team process, from system architecture to algorithmic improvements, and from CSS details to overall user experience
• You have experience working well in a team setting. You're happy to help others out and aren't afraid to ask for help when you need it
