Senior Manager, Quality Assurance
The Senior Manager, Quality Assurance (QA) is responsible for ensuring the customers receive the highest quality solutions possible. The Senior Manager of QA works with Product Management, Engineering, and Project Management leads to define, implement, and execute Quality Assurance activities that span the entire Software Development Lifecycle. This role has responsibility for staffing and supporting an internal testing team, along with responsibility for engaging and collaborating with external Quality Assurance vendor partners. This position is a chance to interact with many highly collaborative agile teams.
An ideal candidate has experience testing any platform (iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Linux) and is familiar with validating SaaS solutions. Strong communication and technical skills are required as well as knowledge in working with automation frameworks, APIs, mobile devices, relational and document databases. The candidate should be familiar with front-end and back-end development in a services-based environment and comfortable translating business requirements into well-defined test cases.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the Quality Assurance team
- Foster a team environment of collaboration, respect, and continuous learning
- Provide technical leadership, career development, mentoring and ongoing management for our QA Associates
- Develop and execute product testing strategy and plans
- Identify appropriate test strategies, test environment requirements and activities based on application-specific technical and functional characteristics
- Work with the team to architect application test frameworks and infrastructure
- Manage and maintain test plans and test cases covering functional product, integration, performance for automated and manual testing
- Plan test execution cycles to meet product release schedules
- Drive continued adoption of test automation strategies and technologies, staying abreast of current industry trends and best practices. Work to integrate automated testing into the Agile SDLC.
- Oversee the ongoing development of end-to-end automated regression test suites; expand test coverage through constant monitoring of the regression test suite
- Assess readiness and deviation of product/ project performance based upon test results and product specifications
- Certify and approve product releases for delivery
- Define, document and improve our QA testing standards, tools, procedures and guidelines
- Drive strategic initiatives to reduce time to market, increase quality and expand test automation
- Conduct trend and root cause analysis and determine risk mitigation strategies
- Establish quality metrics and tracking mechanisms
- Create dashboard(s) that provide increased visibility into key metrics and trends. Identify actionable items from this data analysis and use to drive the appropriate improvements across the development team
- Manage the performance testing to be efficient in simulating production load and stress on our systems
- Collaborate with DevOps in the management of multiple application environments, including QA, UAT, Staging, etc., and the code contained therein.
- Ensure testing of vendor products meets our standards
- Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the Company’s Vision, Mission, and Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers and suppliers

Qualifications:
- Prefer ten or more years of software testing or development experience
- 5+years of experience leading and mentoring QA teams comprised of both manual and automation test engineers
- 3+ years of experience with cloud-based SaaS solutions
- 3+ years of experience with mobile application validation
- Knowledge and experience working in the cloud (Specifically using AWS)
- Knowledge and experience with Agile development practices
- Experience with continuous integration and test driven development
- Ability to manage and direct at all levels of testing including unit, functional, automation, regression, performance and scalability testing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good team player who shares knowledge and experience with team members •
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
