This is a Hybrid position within our IT Organization. The role will allow employees to work offsite but will also require onsite work based on business needs. The selected candidate will be expected to commute to the innovation center to which they are assigned as their primary GM facility. This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-3 times per week. Relocation may be provided.
For all external applicants, we are targeting a start date on or after January 10th 2022 for this position.
About the role
The Application Developer/Software Engineer is responsible for designing and developing complex Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions. In this role, you will contribute to all development activities in accordance with appropriate methodologies and application of a repeatable, systematic, and quantifiable approach to the development process. This role also includes the build of environments according to GM standards and working with business users and vendors to ensure all requirements are met, with a goal of deploying and maintaining the applications for Global Manufacturing Engineering. The ideal candidate will apply DevOps practices to build upon existing systems and investigate future technologies to align with GMs strategic vision.
Specific areas of responsibility include:
- Participates in the full lifecycle of development, including conception, analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment using Agile methodology
- Partners with analysts, developers, and architects to design resilient applications to deliver innovative and modern features
- Work on integrations between Manufacturing platforms and other enterprise systems (including Engineering PLM, CAD, ERP, MES, machines, other shop-floor technologies) to enable end-to-end data connectivity across the organization
- Ability to assess new technologies and determine solution for enterprise implementation
Additional Description
Required Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related
- 7+ years of .NET, Java, C#, Siemens SOA Architecture and Programming, Teamcenter Application Programming Interface (API), NX Open, JT Open
- Demonstrates understanding with designing and developing microservices and REST services
- Familiarity with full suite of Siemens PLM products, including various modules within Teamcenter
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools, modeling language, various architecture frameworks, and how MBSE tools integrate and interact with other digital thread/MBE design and simulation tools
- Administration of Manufacturing PLM configurations
- Exposure to large scale enterprise application integration (EAI) with multiple interfaces and systems
- Outstanding analytical, problem solving, planning, and abstract thinking
- Multitasking ability to work both independently as well as in a team setting
- Knowledge of Software testing, quality assurance and solutions testing including automation
- Ability to work closely with senior developers, software engineers and/or data scientist to gain additional knowledge and expertise
- Document software solutions and ensure that technical documentation meets GM standards
- Understand and maintain compliance with GM standards and industry standard methodology
COMPENSATION
The median level of salary compensation for this role is $86,460 - $113,760
