Whole Foods Market has embarked on transformational Supply Chain & Merchandising initiatives that will deliver market leading capabilities to our company. We are looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our IT Supply Chain and Merchandising team located in Austin, TX. As a QAE you will execute and maintain software and automation scripts across Supply Chain and Merchandising applications. You will engage with experienced cross-disciplinary teams to design and develop innovative consumer products.
You are expected to have industry-leading technical abilities that enable you to significantly improve product quality. You should have a combination of solid in-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance, solid understanding of the operating system software, as well as knowledge of object oriented design principles.
You should command the skill to communicate clearly and effectively. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to propose improvements to our existing processes and automated tools in order to improve the team’s speed, quality and efficiency.

Primary Responsibilities

• First and foremost, you are an engineer and full stack tester (Data-Services-UI) and solve problems through automation
• Work with the team to add and refine acceptance criteria and the definition of done for user stories
• Find edge cases and create negative and exploratory testing
• Designing and performing end-to-end tests
• Prepare data and scripts necessary for automated, and manual testing
• Find defects and work directly with the team to create fixes and validate new tests
• Creating and running automated tests to enable continuous integration and continuous deployment
• Reviewing and testing cross-system concerns such as single sign-on, open source usage, common security requirements, and regulatory standards
• Ongoing education and learning of new programming techniques and technology
• Mentor other members of the team

Basic Qualifications

• BE in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience of minimum 5 years
• 5+ years of strong, demonstrable experience working as an engineer
• 5+ years of experience developing high quality test strategies and test automation
• 3+ years of experience in UI testing in an Angular/React web application
• 3+ years of experience with the .NET Framework or Java
• 3+ years of experience with relational databases (e.g. MS-SQL, Oracle)
• 2+ years of experience and exposure to Selenium framework
• 2+ years of experience with AWS technologies including ECS, EC2, S3, CloudFormation
• Experience working in CI/CD environment
• Experience working with test-driven development (TDD) or Behavior Driven Development (BDD) using Gherkin languages like Cucumber, Cucumber-jvm, Cucumber-js, SpecFlow, Serenity
• Comfort with the full Atlassian toolset (Jira, Confluence) and Postman
• Thorough understanding of QA methodologies, life cycle and processes

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Javascript and other scripting languages
• Ability to affectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
• Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly
• Experience in API testing

• The ability to keep current with the constantly changing technology industry
